Toyota Manufacturing UK has ordered a Carton Live Storage system from Welconstruct Customer Solutions for its Avensis and Corolla assembly lines.

Toyota replaced racking with live storage to improve space use.

Welconstruct’s Carton Live Storage system allows it to manage a First In, First Out stock rotation in line with just-in-time production methods.

The live storage beds are installed within pallet racking frames supported by a universal bracket. Each storage lane ideally contains one product line that is placed on the conveyor and travels by gravity to the picking face and main assembly line.
