CAPACITY BOOSTED November 1st 2004 Replacing a counterbalance lift truck with a multidirectional model from Sidetracker Engineering has enabled Michael Gerson, specialist removals and storage company, to add 1100m3 to storage capacity at its London warehouse.
Goods are stored in special plywood containers in two sizes, the larger measuring 2.6 by 1.9 by 2.4m. These are stacked four-high in the warehouse.
The manoeuvrability of the Sidetracker, which can rotate on its own axis, has enabled the company to reduce aisle widths and turning areas, making space for 104 more large containers.
The truck is a compact battery-powered three-wheel model with two drive wheels that ensure good traction on all surfaces. More articles from Sidetracker Engineering Ltd: |
