Metal recycling company, ELG Haniel Metals, has found a cost effective way of sweeping scrap metal turnings and plate from its site in Hythe. It uses a SweepEX modular brush system from UK importer, Broadwood International.

The device is attached to a Mitsubishi fork lift truck in just a few minutes and sweeps the yard and drive in less than half an hour.

Nigel Higgins, NW area manager for ELG Haniel Metals, explains Without frequent brushing, customers entering the yard with skip vehicles will get punctures from the pieces of metal. The SweepEx is a quick, effective and cost effective way of sweeping. We have been so pleased with it that we have recommended it to our customers.

The compact brush system allows up to 450 miles of sweeping both forwards and backwards before the brushes need replacing.
