Wrapping technology delivers 75% savings
November 1st 2006 End of line packaging solution specialist, M.J.Maillis, has supplied one of its high-performance PR303 turntable wrapping machines to everyday products manufacturer, Uniquema, and helped it to reduce stretch film usage by 75%. M.J.Maillis was invited to visit Uniquema's Wilton site to advise on how irregular packages containing delicate compounds for use in a variety of domestic products, could be better wrapped for transportation. Previously, Uniqema had found that packages often shifted on their pallets during transportation resulting in additional manual labour and the issuing of credits to customers. To ensure load stability and protection, they had resorted to using considerable quantities of film. M J Maillis was able to demonstrate how investment in equipment using its pre-stretch film technologies would not only hold Uniqema's products securely in transport - without placing undue force on the often delicate, easily crushable goods - but also how film usage could be reduced.
