Increased demand for corrugated cases

Increased demand for its corrugated cases has led to Rigid Corrugated investing in another casemaker for its Selby plant.

Opened last year, the state-of-theart manufacturing facility offers customers complete corrugated packaging solutions with quick turnaround times. The addition of the Langston Saturn casemaker is expected to increase Selby's casemaking capacity by almost 20%.

Chris Trevithick, sales director, comments "With the backing of our parent company, VPK Packaging, we are able to follow an aggressive policy of investment in our UK operations, which includes our recently expanded Desborough site and the state-of-the-art Selby facility.

This is enabling us to meet the increasing demand for shorter lead times where growing pressures on manufacturers and retailers, particularly in the food sectors, require our products to perform and be delivered on time, every time."
