Gold award for packaging
July 1st 2007 SCA Packaging was the recipient
of a Gold Award in this
year's Star pack
competition held by
the Institute of
packaging. It was
presented in an awards
ceremony held at the
National Motorcycle
Museum in Birmingham
on the 15th May.
SCA received its
award in the category of
Best Transit Pack for a
solution developed by the
company's Industrial Division. The
pack was designed to house and
protect the sensitive components
of a life support machine during
transportation.
Benefits of the new pack
include; a reduction in overall pack
height, which allows the
product to remain
upright during air freight
preventing damage to
sensitive calibrated
instruments, a
significant reduction in
pack weight which
reduces the cost of air
freight and the addition
of a ramp to the custom
designed low profile pallet which
removes the need for manual
