Custom-built
January 1st 2008 Diamond Phoenix has delivered a
custom-built pallet handling system
at IKEA's Ashton warehouse. The
vertical transport system handles a
broad range of product sizes that
are either pallet or load ledge
mounted across three floors – from
the loading area up to and across
two further store levels.
The system includes two vertical
lifts, a conveyor system based on a
robust modular belt design, plus
software and controls. The result is
that Ashton can now deliver 100 to
250 pallets in a 6h shift as
opposed to the 9h previously
taken, resulting in labour savings.
From design to installation, the
process took just 32 weeks. |
