Heavyweight yard ramp May 1st 2008 A mobile yard ramp from
Thorworld Industries is
helping load and unload
heavy construction
equipment at the Terex
facility in Warwick.
It is used for offloading
new machines that are
transported in containers
or on 40ft long trailers.
Thorworld built the
single axle capacity ramp,
with a useable width of
2650mm instead of the
standard 2250mm width,
so that it could
be used with the
widest machine
handled at the
site.
Terex chose
the 15 000kg
capacity model, the largest
in the Thorworld range, so
that 12.5t excavators
arriving at the site can use
it. The ramp has a serrated
open grid deck for positive
traction in all weather. A
hand-operated hydraulic
pump raises it to the
required height. Although
screwed to the ground,
screws can be easily
removed. A built-in tow bar
lets the ramp be moved by
fork lift if/when necessary. More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
