SAVES ON MAINTENANCE COSTS March 1st 2005 A key factor in battery care is maintaining electrolyte levels and users of large electric vehicle fleets normally invest in topping-up systems to save time and efficiency.
Those with smaller fleets often find that such an investment is not warranted due to the cost of the filling unit. CMP Batteries says its Mini Aquajet is a lower cost alternative.
Although a lower capacity water container than the Aquajet Plus, it works with standard Aquajet battery components.
Suitable for smaller fleets, the unit can accurately fill a battery in 15sec, and the company believes that a typical mixed electric fleet of 10 vehicles will save up to 30% of maintenance costs over five years, including the purchase cost of the Mini Aquajet.
The system has a low profile and can be fitted to almost any battery. It uses water injectors that are permanently attached to the battery and are filled from high-flow water supplies, such as the new Mini Aquajet trolley. Each injector has its own level sensor.
