Spice work for new platforms September 1st 2007 Two lightweight mobile platforms
from Thorworld Industries have
improved efficiency and safety at
the West Bromwich processing
plant of East End Foods, a spice,
rice and lentil importer.
The platforms replace a smaller
unit and solve the problem of lack
of a conveniently located loading
bay in an area where spices are
offloaded prior to being stored in
the warehouse.
Built to East End Foods'
specifications, the mobile
platforms measure 2.4m wide by
2.2m long and have a 3000kg
capacity. They have 1m high
handrails, counter-balanced safety
bars and dock bumpers and are
finished in anti-slip paint.
The platforms have adjustable
legs operating to ±250mm, so
they can be used with containers
of varying floor heights. Fork truck
lifting pockets on all sides allow
easy repositioning.
Commenting on the platforms,
Jitendra Wouhra, East End Foods'
director, says "The mobile
platforms can be positioned in the
most convenient spot for the
unloading of containers and have
made us much more efficient. They
also provide a far safer working
environment for our warehouse
staff." More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
