Although concrete docks were originally chosen to convert the 2000m2 site of Whitbread's Premier Travel Inn distribution centre, Chase Equipment's modular docking system proved a more flexible solution.

Working to short timescales, Chase converted the ground level manufacturing site to a distribution centre capable of accommodating a number of 40t trucks simultaneously, with the ability to decant into small, multi-drop vehicles quickly and safely. The bespoke system allows for modifications and additions, with minimum disruption to the building.

Two weeks after moving in, fire in an adjacent timber depot and damage to Whitbread's premises, meant that immediate temporary relocation was needed. Loading docks, levellers, bridging plates and associated equipment, all unaffected by the fire, were moved locally by Chase and the customer was up and running at full capacity within days.
