Dock equipment stars at astral
July 1st 2008 Astral Developments chose
Stertil Stokvis to provide
dock equipment for its
warehouse project near
Northampton.
Incorporating a range of
dock levellers, shelters and
doors, the installation will
ensure the warehouse can
cope with a variety of
vehicles of differing sizes
and types.
The project consists of 36
docks; with dock levellers
fitted into pre-cast concrete
pits, and doors and dock
seals fitted onto a Prowall
system. There are also two
level access doors. Trailertype
vehicles will be
accommodated by 33 of
Stertil Stokvis's SF electrohydraulic
dock levellers with
heavy-duty, high-tensile
steel platforms and hinged
lips. For trailer/container
and double-decker vehicles,
three XF dock levellers,
each with 600mm
telescopic lip, were
installed. All Stertil Stokvis
dock levellers have PE450
polyethylene low friction
shock-absorbing dock
bumpers, LED traffic lights,
angle-poise docking lights
and galvanised steel wheel
guides with flared ends for
