Productivity up, costs down

Since installing equipment from Automated Packaging Systems, Hiretech in Watford has boosted productivity by 90%, improved lead times by 60% and significantly cut labour costs.

The company used to put its floor sanders and wallpaper strippers manually into poly tubing, seal the bags with a heat sealer and then add sticky labels.

Now, an Excel machine fitted with a load support shelf and Precision in-line printer forms a complete print-and-pack system.

Capable of packing five times faster than by hand, it reduces costs by eliminating the need for a separate labelling process.

Hiretech Autobag equipment uses bags that are clear on one side to give a view of the product and white on the other to allow information to be overprinted directly onto the bag.
