Introduced to eliminate faulty barcodes
September 1st 2004

The VT 360 printer from Concept Labelling Solutions is said to guarantee that each barcode it produces is 100% accurate. It does this by automatically validating every barcode printed, based on a level of accuracy determined by the user.

The company says that with retailers levelling fines of up to £50 000 on suppliers who provide them with misprinted barcodes, no one can afford not to verify their barcodes.

Using its internal validation system and Automatic Printing Process control, the VT 360 can automatically react to differing light levels and temperatures, printing accurately in almost any working environment.

However, if it does detect a substandard barcode, it will automatically adjust itself and reprint up to five times until a satisfactory result is achieved, without stopping production as a traditional verifier would do.

This means that the user simply sets the level of accuracy required and can be confident that no substandard barcodes will be allowed to be printed. The internal validation system is completely encased within the body of the printer.
