January 1st 2008 The Giraffe from end of line
automation specialist Elettric 80
has a reach of 9m, maximum pallet
weight of 1200kg
and is said to make
light work of
automated storage
and handling work,
making it safer, more
flexible and cost effective.
The Giraffe can be
programmed to manoeuvre
in a 3m wide corridor and
replace manual forklifts
without the need to change
the racking.
Elettric 80 says all its LGV
storage and retrieval
systems are quickly
installed with minimal
disruption, often while
production is still running.
The firm has its own
WMS which works
alongside, and integrates
with, any existing
WMS/ERP system, so that
the WMS requires
minimal change to
handle the
