Replace T8s with T5s and save January 1st 2006 Paragon says its Forneon adapters save between 50 and 75 per cent on energy costs and 50 per cent on maintenance by allowing T8 tubes to replaced with the more efficient T5 - which has double the life expectancy.
The adapters simply fit over the ends of the T5 tube, extending the length and allowing it to replace a T8 in any system. The Forneon adapters are electronic ballast which short circuit the traditional choke and ballast that use 14 per cent less additional energy supply.
The familiar starter is redundant, so a circuit jumper is provided in the kit. According to Paragon the units generate minimal heat, furthering cost reductions in cold or cool environments.
Marketed by Lichtec, the units take minutes to convert and will significantly reduce a company's CO2 emissions.
