New guards for tanks and vessels help prevent leaks
November 1st 2003

Leaks of hazardous chemicals from incorrectly designed and maintained storage systems continue to present risks to health, safety and the environment despite increased regulations and directives. Forbes has introduced new systems for both metal and plastic tanks that allow operation with totally dry bunds and installations, providing complete containment of chemicals. Jetguard or TC Shield can be fitted or retro fitted to tanks with open bunds or bunds with weather shrouds respectively. Comprising a shell of plastic or metal, the guard is attached to the top knuckle of the tank and terminates at a suitable point below the bund wall. These systems prevent the jetting of hazardous chemicals over bunds or weather covers and are suitable for manned and unmanned sites. Covers can be made removable to allow easy access to the bund.
