Clarity DR, a new data retrieval service from Stark, uses SMS - based Automatic Meter Reading for the UK non half hourly electricity meter market.

The company believes the service marks the end of manual meter reading and makes AMR affordable to the non half hourly market for the first time.

The meter is a one box solution that integrates both the metrology and the communications, reducing hardware costs. The sending of SMS text messages is far less expensive than renting fixed phone lines and paying call charges.
