Mobile steam solutions May 1st 2005 Available from Watkins Hire is a trailerised unit that incorporates a three-pass wet back ICI Caldie.
This 7416kg/h steam boiler, with dual fuel capability and an operating pressure of 18bar, has an integral economiser that increases efficiency and, in turn, results in savings on gas and electricity.
Features of the boiler include a corrugated furnace, flanged tube plates connecting to the boiler shell and furnace, thus obviating TButt welds at the critical stress points of the boiler.
A removable stainless steel feedwater inlet sparge pipe ensures even distribution of feed water within the shell.
This is connected to the boiler via a thermal sleeve to avoid stress cracks that, the company says, are common with other shell boilers at the feedwater inlet connection.
The boiler is also fitted with a combustion air pre-heater via a stainless steel recuperator in the rear smokebox.
The unit has a conventional air to water economiser so can be used on either natural gas or fuel oil. By fixing the Hamworthy ERD rotary cup, there is total flexibility to meet a client’s specification of available fuel and achieving up to 4% efficiency gain.
The company is currently offering free site surveys followed by ‘a disaster emergency plan’. More articles from Motivation (Traffic Control) Ltd: |
