Approval for boiler January 1st 2005 The nine-model RBC range of horizontal wet-back fire tube boilers from Fulton Boiler Works is now available with optional ECAapproved burners and has been included on the Energy Technology List for the government-backed Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme.
The RBC ECA boilers, offering capacities from 957 to 4787kg/h, have Nu-way ECA specification burners that, as a packaged combination, achieve the levels of efficiency required.
Based on figures for a 2004 steam plant in the North of England involving four boilers (two 1500kW and two 2100kW, all with high/low burners), the following estimates for payback were calculated per boiler/burner: • Additional cost per boiler with ECA approved Nu-way burner - £2300 • Estimated annual running-cost saving per ECA approved boiler (based on plant application and fuel used – gas and electricity) - £2750 • Payback period using ECA burner – less than one year • Projected 10-year saving at current fuel costs – £27 500+.
