Utility Partnership (UPL) specialises in smart metering, also known as automatic meter reading which shows what and when gas, water and electricity has been used.

The company uses vehicle routing and scheduling software from DPS International to plan routes for engineers fitting its smart meters.

Rhys Wynne, director and cofounder of UPL, explains "When we first started we were able to use manual route and work scheduling, but now we are fitting 200 sites a week and it is simply not feasible to produce efficient plans manually.

"With LogiX we can produce schedules and manage customers' expectations regarding time and service. We simply could not do this job without LogiX. We are able to pinpoint remote sites using OS grid references to within 1m.
