Save it easy on ECSL
July 1st 2008

Since its launch last year, ECSL says sales of 'Save It Easy' have exceeded 400 000 units. The Save It Easy units – including new energy saving solutions for 8 and 6ft fittings – will be featured at The Energy Event.

'Save It Easy' removes the cost of replacing existing ceiling fittings (luminaires). They enable fluorescent lighting users to relamp with high efficiency T5 and T8 tubes in existing fittings, negating the huge investment involved in replacing existing luminaires to gain energy economies associated with new generation triphosphor tubes.

The units do not require highlyqualified staff to overhaul the lighting system and they avoid the engineering problems of new attachments and re-wiring. ECSL says energy savings range from 34 to 56%, depending on application.

The units come with a two-year no quibble guarantee.

Companies House in Cardiff had 600 5ft T8 tubes in its car park that needed to be replaced or substituted for lower energy versions.

Retrofitting would have generated a huge amount of waste. ECSL says the impact of the new units was even greater than expected. Total energy savings over a year were nearly £7000, with a 40t fall in CO2 emissions.

The light quality of the new triphosphor tubes so improved that the company was able to cut down on the number of lamps, adding to the energy efficiency of the car park.
