Refrigeration lubricant
May 1st 2007

IDS Refrigeration has developed Emkarate synthetic polyolester compressor oils, which enhance refrigeration system reliability by providing wear protection.

The new product is said to reduce drag and friction within refrigeration compressors, leading to improvements in efficiency. A major benefit of these lubricants is their 15%-25% lower energy usage, which shows up in reduced demand at power stations and contributes to lower C02 emissions.

Uniqema, manufacturer of the Emkarate oils range, claims that use of this product in over 500 million compressors worldwide has led to a reduction in global carbon emissions of 25 million tonnes.
