Latest range of industrial refrigeration products September 1st 2007 Alfa Laval has developed a
range of industrial
refrigeration products
designed to exploit the natural
benefits of ammonia: its lack of
global warming potential; its energy
efficiency and the fact that it's also
cheaper than most synthetics. The
first of this new breed of ammonia
friendly heat exchangers is the
Airmax 11 NH3 unit cooler which is
designed for use in medium to
large cold stores and refrigerated
food preparation areas. Featuring a
new frame design and coil, the
range includes units with capacities
ranging from 18 to 160kW all
designed for maximum energy
efficiency and the lowest possible
refrigerant charge. The secret of
this efficiency apparently lies in the
coil pitch, the 16mm stainless steel
tubes and the aluminium fins which
provide the actual heat transfer
surface. The units can be supplied
with four different fan diameters (
500, 560, 630 and 800) all of which
work comfortably at temperatures
as low as – 400C.
Designed for plug and play
simplicity, the Airmax 11 NH3 range
provides low-noise operation for
maximum personnel comfort and
easy maintenance with all the main
components readily accessible.
The standard painted galvanised
steel cabinet can be replaced by
all-stainless steel construction for
ultra-hygienic installations and
other options include extra
powerful fan motors, air throw fan
cowls and a range of gas or
electric defrost options.
Airmax 11 NH3 is claimed to be
the first in a complete range of unit
coolers and other heat exchangers
developed specifically for use with
ammonia as the refrigerant. More articles from Alfa Laval Limited: |
