Cool, green answer to summer excesses July 1st 2008 The combination of CoSaf
Environments' technical
know-how and Seeley
International Europe's
Breezair evaporative
cooling has resulted in
temperature reductions of
more than 10°C at JCB
Transmissions' gearbox
plant where, in summer,
temperatures in excess of
33°C were reached.
Looking for a solution
that would provide frequent
air changes as well as
cooling, site services
manager, Barry Stevens,
turned to CoSaf
Environments, UK
distributor for Breezair
coolers and a heating,
ventilating and air cooling
specialist. The company
conducted an on-site
survey of the area to
ascertain the best method
of improving overall thermal
comfort.
Following the survey an
evaporative cooling system
was designed and six
Breezair TBA air coolers
were installed on the roof
above a low roofed section
of the plant with cool air
being distributed via
ductwork to air diffusers
and then into the heataffected
areas to provide
temperature relief.
Barry Stevens, site
services manager, says
"Breezair has enabled us to
provide very effective
cooling for our employees
without using equipment
with polluting HCFC gases
and using 80% less energy
than we would have used
had we installed refrigerative
air conditioning." More articles from Seeley International Ltd: |
