Heinz saves with steam trap survey March 1st 2007 The site has more than 550steam traps, but there hadn't been a systematic trap survey for over five years. "We decided to have a full survey in light of our commitment to energy efficiencies and improvements," says the site's environmental compliance manager. "We decided to buy in the necessary steam system expertise by calling in Spirax Sarco." Energy savings have enabled Heinz to realise a payback of less than nine months after investing in a Spirax Sarco steam trap survey and undertaking the resulting remedial work. The 55-acre Heinz factory in Wigan has an on-site energy centre which generates up to 140 tonnes of steam per hour to keep the canning lines running. More articles from Spirax Sarco Ltd: |
