Condensing boilers September 1st 2007 Harry Taylor of Ashton says
Ecocooling Evaporative Cooling
solutions are cheaper, greener and
less restrictive than standard
refrigerant based air con systems.
With minimal moving parts and
requiring only basic water and
electrical services, evaporative
cooling is simple yet effective.
Numerous installation options
enable solutions to be tailored to
precisely fit the requirement.
Alleviating safety concerns,
potentially dangerous organisms
do not present a risk as the water
in an evaporative cooler circulates
at a naturally cool temperature,
providing a constant supply of
naturally cooled air.
According to Harry Taylor, an
Ecocooling evaporative cooler is
25% of the capital cost and 15% of
the running cost of a refrigerantbased
industrial air con system.
For example, an Ecocooler can
produce 35kW of cooling for 1.5kW
of power. This equates to one
cooler providing enough cool air
for 300m2 for less than 10 pence
an hour.
Consuming 85% less electricity
saves not only energy bills but
equates to 10 tonnes of CO2 per
annum per cooler.
Furthermore, SME firms may
qualify for a four year interest-free
unsecured loan from Carbon Trust.
Condensing boilers
Hoval has now extended the
capacity of its high-efficiency
Ultragas condensing gas boiler
range. Single Ultragas units now
offer capacities from 50kW to
720kW, while twin Ultragas units
offer outputs from 250kW to
1440kW – complete with common
flue and optional pipework/header
kits. The 500kW and 720kW
models are also available in 8 bar
versions. Featuring Hoval's Ultra
Clean combustion system, the
boilers use a modulating pre-mix
down firing burner with up to 6:1
turndown (12:1 on twin units) and
a stainless steel combustion
chamber with a single pass aluFer
tube heat exchanger.
The aluFer tubes are also made
of stainless steel with an aluminium
alloy finned internal surface to
provide a high surface area for
heat exchange. More articles from Hoval Limited: |
