Green manufacturing is a buzz word in some ways, however, this doesn't mean that it is isn't important particularly considering the financial situation at the moment. It is just that in the past it was called process optimisation, lean manufacturing, quality improvement, six sigma and so on. Last month's poll suggested that 47% of your company's were looking to manufacture in a greener way while 27% said that they were, though this had taken a back seat in the current economic conditions. Running a premises and optimising fuel, water and raw materials is one way to improve cash flow and profitability. This may be the difference between survival and failure of a business and is good cause not to delay at least scoping studies looking into low cost/no cost options. Lean and green has to the best way to manufacture goods.
